The Human Resources Coordinator will provide administrative support to the Human Resources Department in the areas of benefit support, FMLA and leave of absence requests, and overall HR support. Detailed coordination of Human Resource activities and confidentiality in all areas is essential and must be handled with professionalism. The HR Coordinator will perform a variety of human resource support duties as required by the position.

Essential Functions

  • Promote and adhere to HDIS' Core Values: Integrity, Compassion, Excellence, Respect, and Commitment to Quality


  • Coordination and reporting of company FMLA/Leaves of Absence including working one on one with employees, managers and others in HR
  • Point of contact onsite for benefit events
  • Assist Benefits Manager with employee benefit programs including: monthly enrollment, open enrollment, benefit forms and communication, as well as, fielding benefit related questions from employee's onsite
  • Manage short term disability and long term disability claims
  • Onsite contact for benefit related correspondence and invoices
  • Attend and participate in benefit related meetings as required

General HR

  • Participate in the preparation and administration of company events
  • Analyze trends/metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective communication, coordination and working relations with HDIS personnel and external vendors
  • Update monthly HR metric numbers and distribute to appropriate parties in department
  • Conduct exit interviews with hourly employees
  • Oversee ordering of business cards as needed
  • Employment Verifications
  • Provide monthly HR reporting as needed (ex. performance review reporting, monthly hours worked, PTO accruals)
  • Coordinate Sam's Club membership renewals
  • Provide response to unemployment claims
  • Assist with attendance points application process
  • Update the employee wall (employee pictures by department)
  • Other projects as assigned

Required Qualifications (Education, Prior Experience, Specialized Skills and Knowledge)

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
  • At least 2 years HR support experience, FMLA a plus
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple requests at one time
  • Attention to details and accuracy along with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to comply and meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to handle matters of confidentiality discreetly and work with employees on issues requiring varying degrees of sensitivity
  • Strong functional expertise of leave and workers compensation programs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; verbal communication and professional writing skills
  • Risk assessment and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with an ability to multitask and prioritize high work volume
  • Work well independently or in a team situation
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft office suite
